About Us

Our TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) calculator is designed to provide you with a precise estimate of how many calories your body burns per day, factoring in your basal metabolic rate and activity level. Understanding your TDEE is the cornerstone of any successful fitness journey, whether your goal is to lose fat, maintain weight, or build muscle. By using the most reliable scientific formulas, we help you take the guesswork out of nutrition and provide a clear starting point for your personalized caloric needs

Methodology & Formulas

To provide the most accurate energy expenditure estimates, our calculator utilizes industry-standard biological equations. By default, we use the Mifflin-St Jeor formula to determine your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is then adjusted based on your physical activity level.

Default Standard

Mifflin-St Jeor Equation

Widely considered the most reliable formula for the general population.

BMR = (10 × weight_kg) + (6.25 × height_cm) - (5 × age_y) + s
High Precision

Katch-McArdle Equation

If you provide your body fat percentage, the calculator prioritizes this formula as it focuses on Lean Body Mass (LBM).

BMR = 370 + (21.6 × LBM_kg)

For the best results, use body fat calipers or a DEXA scan to determine your body composition.

Revised Harris-Benedict Equation

An updated version (1984) of the original classic, provided for those who prefer traditional metabolic metrics.

Men: 88.362 + (13.397 × weight_kg) + (4.799 × height_cm) - (5.677 × age_y) Women: 447.593 + (9.247 × weight_kg) + (3.098 × height_cm) - (4.330 × age_y)
